Fallbrook Engineering Mentors Local High School Project Team
Three senior students at High Tech High School, a charter school in San Diego, working on a medical lab instrument design project are being helped by the designers at Fallbrook Engineering, Inc., a local medical device consulting firm located in Valley Center, CA. “After learning about the girls’ project to design a research tool to be used in a medical pathology lab, we wanted to serve as a sounding board for their ideas” said Richard P. Meyst, President and CEO. The project was conceived by one student who had manually performed a tissue sample preparation many times during a summer job. She just knew there had to be a better way. “Fallbrook is delighted to help and encourage new creative thinking by our students. I was impressed with their enthusiasm and confidence that they could define a problem and find an effective solution that will make medical research more efficient”, Meyst said.
